“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. “
- Proverbs 31:25-28
This verse speaks on how to be a good mother and or wife, doesn’t mean you have to be married or have kids but a way of carrying yourself in the eyes of God. It is something we as woman can try to practice no matter where we are in our walk with God in our lives.
We are told to be strong and carry ourselves as graceful women. We are asked to speak with kindness, by thinking before we speak and be wise with what we say. God wants women to take care of their homes and families, laziness isn’t an option.
Growing up my mother showed me how to be a strong woman. She taught me to always be kind and take in each lesson to make me wiser. I always saw her working hard as a single parent and putting her best foot forward in situations just to make sure we were okay. I look back at the struggles we faced and can only see her smiling during those times. She never wanted me to worry. I am beyond thankful for everything she has done for me. My Mom said “you can’t do well and handle it when things go bad when you haven’t ever experienced the good things”.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the strong, kind, loving and hard working mothers out there. You are appreciated and loved.
