Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
- Proverbs 29:11
To remain calm when you’re angered is very hard to do. When I’m angry, rage takes over my heart and all I want to do is yell, curse and validate my point, especially if I know I’m right. It’s a feeling inside myself where hatred grows. The hardest thing to do when you’re mad is being the bigger person and walking away. There were certain situations in my past where I didn’t walk away and ended up fighting. I turned into a person I didn’t recognize because I let someone else get the best of me, which in the end angered me even more that I stooped to their level. By being calm, you feel a sense of strength and empowerment. I feel that I gain back my control by not giving energy to the foolishness. But trust me I get it, it’s hard to bring yourself back down after being hyped up. Control your temper, don’t let it control you.
