Sunday Reflection

But the Lord said to him, “Pay no attention to how tall and handsome he is. I have rejected him, because I do not judge as people judge. They look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart.”

- 1 Samuel 16:7

I always say it’s the looks that attract you and it’s the mind that keeps you. Whenever I would be interested in a guy, I would make sure I know where his heart and mind are. By this I mean I’m making sure that he has a good head on his shoulders and that his heart is open to giving love. It is sometimes hard trying to figure out whether someone is honest or deceitful, but it is only hard when you ignore his or her actions. People show their hearts through their actions most of the time. I say this because I know if I’m committed to my words, my actions will follow. If I’m not committed to what I say, then I won’t care about keeping my word. We should try to be more like God and look at the heart to see who someone truly is.
