“If you love only the people who love you, why should you receive a blessing? Even sinners love those who love them! And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you receive a blessing? Even sinners do that! And if you lend only to those from whom you hope to get it back, why should you receive a blessing? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount!” - Luke 6:32-34 When a person does good for someone they do it because they see a need. Even though that person is thankful, they feel good that they helped a person in need. If your doing something good just to get something back then your doing it for selfish reasons. Some people have had selfish moments in their life expecting things in return, instead of doing things out of the goodness of their hearts. We should learn to be more selfless instead of thinking we are owed something. We should do things from the heart and pray more for the people who are struggling. Selfish people who prey or wish bad upon others are the ones who are suffering. Pray for those who don’t have it good like you and pray for your enemies too.
