Patience

ree

Since my last blog post “Fitness Journey” I’ve learned about patience.  I use to have little to no patience when it came to waiting for something I wanted.  While losing weight I learned to embrace the journey as much as the reward.  Working hard for something to get to the end result feels great and helped me believe that what I was doing would work.  I applied patience to other aspects of my life after seeing how much it helped me.  I understand we all want instant gratification and immediate results but what that has taught us is to have very little patience.

I worked on having patience by setting goals to work towards by respecting every milestone as an accomplishment, slowing down to think, relaxing/taking deep breaths and figuring out what triggered my impatience in the first place.

I started doing yoga to help me practice breathing and relax my mind and not think a mile a minute.  I was able to pin point the things that were making me impatient.  By applying these steps to your life, you’ll see your perspective change.

This has helped me be patient with not only myself but also with those around me.
