Discernment in the In-Between

Have you ever felt like your heart was being pulled in two directions?
One path feels clear, steady, and aligned with God’s Word, a true “level up” in your faith journey. The other keeps tugging at your attention. It looks intriguing, consistent in its own way, and almost as if it’s waving its hand saying, “Hey, I’m the answer.” But deep down, you know it’s not.
I've been there and still learning how to surrender my will for God’s, even when one option feels tempting and the other feels terrifying. The truth is God’s way is not always the easiest, but it is always the right way. Scripture reminds us of this in Luke 14:28, "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?"
When we’re making decisions that impact our future, our faith, or our relationships, we have to count the cost. Choosing God’s way may cost us comfort, familiarity, or opportunities that shine on the surface. But if we trust Him, what we gain will always outweigh what we give up.
Even when I feel torn, His Spirit has a way of guiding me toward the path that truly leads to life. So I’m choosing the harder yes. The scarier yes. The “counting the cost” yes cause' even if my heart feels divided, I trust the One who holds it.
