Happy International Women’s Day

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

Today is a celebration for all women around the world. We are celebrating our progress, how we empower one another and how long it took us to get to the point of almost being fully equal. We are still fighting for equality as women, and as black women. We are battling in the workplace, in sports, in politics, in science, and in the military. Our voices are being heard as women of all ethnicities come together for what is right. We as women have an incredible influence on society. We have to continue to empower one another to make the society as strong as we are. I am honored and blessed to say I have a caring, powerful, strong, intellingent, inspiring, supportive, comforting, compassionate and selfless mother. She has shown me how much power and strength I possess as a young black women. She is what I aspire to be. To the women of my generation and younger, my hope is that we learn from those who came before us and that we will make them proud.
