Surrendering Every Day

As we step closer to 2026, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means to surrender - not once, not at midnight on December 31st, but every single day.
When I started Finding My Nia, it was because I knew there were people like me: people who want to grow, who don’t want to be who they were yesterday, who feel the pull toward a life of purpose. My name means purpose, and this space has always been about choosing that purpose intentionally, with God at the center.
This year, my blog has carried themes of obedience, healing, discernment, contentment, and faith. And through all of it, one lesson has humbled me over and over again: surrender is a daily decision.
Not giving into my flesh.
Not leading myself based on emotion.
Not trying to control outcomes I was never meant to carry.
Every day, God invites us to lay down the version of ourselves we’re trying to build in our own strength and receive the version He’s been shaping within us all along. As we enter a new month and a new chapter, my encouragement to you is:
Don’t wait for a new year to decide who you’re becoming.
You don’t have to wait for fireworks or countdowns to choose Jesus again.
You don’t need a perfect moment to start over.
You can surrender, be healed and step into purpose today. Let the Lord enter your heart right where you are. Let Him soften what grew hard, revive what grew tired, and realign what drifted off track. He is faithful to complete the work - all He asks is that we show up with a yes.
